Privacy notice

This notice explains how personal information is used when you shop with or contact Fold & Ferne.

Last updated: 31 August 2026

Who is responsible for your information

Fold & Ferne is the trading name used for this shop by Fold and Ferne. We are responsible for the personal information described in this notice.

Information we collect

When you place an order we may receive and store your name, email address, delivery address, the products ordered, personalisation details, order value, order status and payment reference. We do not store your full card details; card payments are handled by Stripe.

If you buy or redeem a gift voucher, we also process the voucher code, value, remaining balance and purchase or redemption history needed to operate that voucher. If you contact us, we process the information you include in your enquiry.

Why we use it

We use order and contact information to take and fulfil orders, provide customer service, manage delivery, personalisation, returns and refunds, prevent misuse of discounts or vouchers, keep the shop secure and maintain records we need for accounting, tax and legal purposes.

Depending on the activity, our legal basis is normally performance of our contract with you, compliance with a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests in operating and protecting a small online shop and responding to customers.

Who we share information with

Stripe processes payment and checkout information. Depending on the activity, Stripe may act as a data controller and/or processor. Cloudflare provides the infrastructure used to run this website and store shop data, and processes relevant end-user data on behalf of the shop as its customer. We may also share the minimum information needed with delivery providers, professional advisers or authorities where this is necessary to fulfil an order or meet a legal obligation. We do not sell customer personal information.

How long we keep information

We keep order and transaction records for up to seven years after the end of the relevant accounting period where needed for accounting, tax and legal obligations. Enquiry information is kept only while it is useful for dealing with the enquiry and any related issue, normally no longer than two years after the matter is closed. Voucher records are kept while a balance remains and for up to seven years after the related transaction for accounting and legal purposes. Data that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymised where appropriate.

International processing

Stripe and Cloudflare may process information in countries outside the UK. Where information is transferred internationally, the relevant provider is responsible for using an applicable lawful transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards, such as adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.

Your device and cookies

The public shop uses your browser’s local storage to remember your basket, selected delivery method and any discount or voucher code you enter. This version of the shop does not use advertising or analytics cookies. The private CMS uses an authentication cookie for administrator sign-in.

Your rights

UK data-protection law gives people rights over their personal information in appropriate circumstances, including rights to ask for access, correction or deletion and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can contact us to exercise a right or ask a privacy question.

If you are unhappy with how your personal information has been handled, you can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when the shop, suppliers or data uses change. The version shown on this page is the current website notice.
